Member Stories

Member stories are the definitive proof against two of Peloton’s biggest brand misconceptions —“I won’t use it” and “It’s not worth the money.” Showcasing such impactful stories in a unique approach allowing members to connect and see themselves in our community. Here are some of my favorites.

Client: Peloton
Role: Art Direction

A story from Andrea N. Williams 🖤

“At the start of the pandemic, I started working out for the 100th time. Around June of
2020, a friend and Peloton owner suggested I give it a try for a month. I never dreamed that Peloton was in my reach, so therefore never believed I could—or ever would—try it.

I began with doing walks and attempting to run, and eventually, I ventured into the strength exercises. That was like a WOW moment. I’m not saying I killed it the first time out or that I do so now, but I felt empowered. Me in this body, this out-of-shape body did that!”

A story from Jo Cabey 🖤

“It’s so hard to put into words the way Peloton has motivated me. From the moment I became I member, it was crystal clear that I’d be using this program for a very long time.

The motivation comes from the instructors. Tunde! Gosh, where do I start? Foremost, I’ll begin by saying that having someone that looks like you in a space as such is sometimes all the motivation you need. I remember a few years back taking spin classes and not feeling it, due to me not relating to any of the instructors or people in the room. Tunde feels like the sister I wish I had. She is unapologetically herself and shows up boldly (in stature and with what she wears). She’s motivated me to be confident. She’s told me a million times I can do anything for just 5 more seconds. She’s someone I truly look up to, and I can’t say enough how much that has made an impact on my life both on and off the Bike.”

A story from Sarah Christie 🖤

Peloton has made a HUGE impact on my life. At the start of the pandemic, I ordered my Bike without ever seeing one, and I’ve had a straight streak since then. I haven’t missed a day. I have three boys, and Peloton allowed me to stay physically and mentally fit when everything was shut down. My Peloton was my first purchase for myself, by myself, after my 15-year marriage ended. Now I’m dealing with breast cancer and am so thankful to have my Bike. I plan to keep my streak throughout my treatment. Peloton truly saved me and has been life changing.

I’m about to hit my 2,000 ride. I just hit my 1,800 strength class. I am stronger and fitter now then I have ever been. I am 45 and in better shape than I was at 30.

A story from Mark Marotto 🖤

“My kids called me last year laughing and crying at the same time. They asked if I gave Peloton permission to use my likeness in the television advertisement with Scrooge getting a Peloton which changed his outlook on life. I wake up every day with excitement knowing that I will improve my health and have fun at the same time! Who would have ever dreamed that the possibility of a shoutout could be so motivating!

My kids live far away and it’s a blast planning family rides together. To quote Jess Sims, ‘you don’t have to, you get to’! I truly love you Peloton!!!! Thank you for becoming such an important part of my life.”

A story from Lauren Lott 🖤

“Peloton has helped me through multiple seasons of my life and taught me so much about mental health and the power of positivity. To be honest, I do not have a strong circle around me so the words spoken by the instructors might be the only positive words I hear all day. I have lost my first dog, lost jobs, and found myself in the red while gaining so much determination and grit from Peloton. On my darkest days, I used Peloton as a way to remind myself I am strong and there is always a reason to just KEEP GOING. One day, I will work for Peloton and be able to connect with my community in some way!”

A story from Chris Brady 🖤

“I have never been consistent when it comes to working out. Peloton has provided the motivation to keep me consistent. I am stronger, fitter, and in the best shape of my life because of it. I started with mostly Bike workouts, but then I started to get a lot of value from strength training (especially core workouts). Then I got a Peloton Tread, which got me running again after 9 years. It’s been a great journey so far, and I am excited to keep it going.”
